Prisoners need to know God loves them. They need to realize they have a chance at forgiveness and their lives can be transformed. They are cut-off from the society, leading a life behind bars. They need to be told that Jesus loves them, and no sinner is beyond redemption—no matter what they’ve done and who they’ve hurt. Prisoners live in conditions that often promote retribution and violence. They learn to protect themselves by toughening their hearts up to mercy and compassion. Without intervention, they will be eternally lost.
